* Meet at the Robert Harris Cafe, Johnston Street/SH 1 in Foxton by 10.00am ready for a 10.30am departure. Our run this year will follow the same format as last year’s. When you register with me, I will email to you a copy of the commentary sheet so you can read it beforehand otherwise you may miss something of interest in your travels. A passenger would be helpful. * Arrive early if you want a coffee or breakfast. * Due to route, museum visit and café booking times our departure time needs to be firm at 10.30am. * We will travel on great ‘MG’ roads, some of which you may not have travelled, learning some history, seeing sites, and reading stories of which may or may not be of interest * We will be covering approximately 75km, over approximately 1.5 hours from Foxton. There are no toilet stops on the way, until we return to Foxton town centre * Lunch will be at Robert Harris Cafe, Foxton at approximately 1pm. There will be both cabinet and menu food available. As we are meeting there before we depart, please peruse the food options to speed up ordering at lunch time. * Visit: We will be visiting, at 12 noon, the newly refurbished Flax Stripper Museum (Official reopening is on 1st April, so we are the first to visit). There is a $5 charge per person, which I will collect at the café before departure. |

William Pyne Memorial Run
Just so we refresh members’ memories - Bill Pyne was a great supporter of the OSH runs from their introduction in 2012 and he sadly passed away on the 1st April 2016. As always, there is a trophy which has been provided by the late Roy Savage, a great friend of Bill’s, who himself passed away on the 26th November 2017. Roy was a great collector of cars including MGs and most of them have been auctioned off since his death at two auctions held at Southwards Car Museum. The run takes the form of a “Show and Shine” and a short “Observation Trial” with the winner being whoever accumulates the most points from the two activities. The details of the 2025 Run are: Meet: at 9.45am for the “Show and Shine” and coffee. Where: Wellington Car Museum & Cafe, 6 George Daniels Drive, Trentham, Upper Hutt 5018 There is ample parking at the Museum and out on the street in front of the museum There is drink/food as a set menu, blackboard specials and from the cabinet. Cafe seating will be reserved for this club event. Destination: After your car has been judged for the "Show and Shine" from around 10:30am you can depart on the Observation Trail following the notes and questions provided by Philip & Hellen. The Observation Trial will take you into the wider Upper Hutt Community and back country roads and will eventually return you to the Wellington Car Museum for lunch around 12 noon'ish This will be followed by the announcement of the days results and the awarding of the William Pyne Trophy for 2025 to the winning car. Bonus: Following the conclusion of the event the Wellington Car Museum is offering access to its museum car collection to our club for this event for a discounted price of NZ$15.00 per person. |

This film explores this stunning achievement. Each of the gardens reflects the beliefs and values of those who created them. The viewer can travel backwards and forwards in time moving from the 16 th century Japan to the early 20 th century England, back to the Song Dynasty China, Ancient Egypt,
and the Italian Renaissance, and forward to the future, from sustainable to surreal.
Masterminded by designer Peter Sergel and developed with council, community support, and sponsorship. Hamilton Gardens is now recognised as and rated one of the great gardens of the world. More than places to walk, these gardens are living histories, waiting to be explored. It also received a very positive Film Review by Graeme Tuckett in last

humanity” 4 Stars
